The answer is, it’s about many things. Sometimes it’s about Beethoven and sometimes it’s about rock-and-roll (take a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-Byqon5e4Y!). Always it’s about cellos, cellists, cello music, and those who love the sound of the cello. People may come because they want to hear the Schubert Quintet—a string quartet plus a second cello. What could be better? Well, how about 100 cellos? That is a unique and thrilling sound!

Other people come to a cello festival because they get to see and hear cellists from around the world all in one place at the same time. It’s not often you can spend a week hearing Frans Helmerson from Sweden, Giovanni Sollima from Italy, Argentinian tangos courtesy of Antonio Lysy, and other artists without leaving LA.

There is beauty, there is artistry, there is pure enjoyment. Come and be a part of the Festival.
